The rapist

I finally went to an office and requested some help. I got a therapist's number. Getting out and doing things I need to do is getting harder and I'm getting emotional in public when I feel overwhelmed. Has anyone else recently started seeing someone? I'm confused about how I am going to explain myself clearly this time... I think I have been too confusing with my speeches in the past and that could be why I have been misunderstood by many of them. I have also never seen anyone on my own; without my mother present.

Well it's been a while since I first went to see a new pdoc, but I remember someone giving me this great advise beforehand: write it down before you go into the first session. That way you'll know what you want to say. And if you get tongue-tied during the session, you can always hand the paper over. This worked really well for me. I never knew what to say when I was with pdoc, but as soon as I came home I could write several pages. We ended up with me emailing him what I wrote between every session, and then talking about that during sessions.

I hope everything works out well with your new tdoc :) Keep us updated.

no... I don't really know if I will call this person. I am still thinking of what I should say.

Please go and give them a call, storyofanartist. If you don't talk about this kind of stuff, it will rot inside you. What is the worst thing that could happen?

I've seen a therapist about something similar, and even though I worried about what to say, it turned out I didn't have to. The tdocs and pdocs are prepared for these kind of things. They have questions and tools they can use in session. I waited years before I went the first time, and I really should have gone sooner. Please go.
