I'm in psycho-social therapy. It's where you have a contact person whom you meet with every week and a team of doctors/nurses/therapists etc. who are ready to take care of you when you need it. It doesn't involve psychotherapy or talk therapy, but it's really helpful. I feel like someone actually cares what I do and is involved with my life. They help me with every day things and they can also come to my home and help if I'm not feeling so well or help me find a place to work if feel fit. It's very flexible.

What kind of therapy are you in?

I meet my contact person once a week, and I also have meetings with other people once in a while - a doctor for instance or someone who helps with my financial situation and who can provide guidance with benefits and such. It really is helpful, hope you get a chance to get into a program like this, sonyteck!

I am in the same program as VA, and I'm so glad I was accepted to it. It saves my ass, really.

I also go to Fountain House - it's an active community house for people with all kinds of MIs, where they help you move on in your life and maybe get work or go to school. It's not exactly therapy, but it's definitely therapeutic ;) Fountain House is a world-wide organization, and if there's a house near you, I'd recommend trying it out. Here's a link.

Maybe you can do a local google search to find one in your part of the world? Or ask your pdoc or tdoc if they know one?
