I feel anxoius about Facebook

For all those vague, tangential thoughts you just don't know where to put.

I feel anxoius about Facebook

I mean, they have a lot of personal data on me. I'm afraid they will sell it to third parties.

I'm also scared about how I present myself to all my "friends" on Facebook by doing quizzes and playing games and uploading photos and that shit.

Maybe I should just delete my account?

I'm not a fan of myspace and facebook. I often get worried that my doctors are reading my messages on the internet and know its me. However I believe this is extremely unlikely and probably impossible.

I think that myspace dumps it is to teenager like. One thing that facebook did for me by taking the silly stupid quizzes is that it showed a side of humor that people hadn't seen in me before. I mean unless the quiz was really really stupid teenager like. Many of the quizzes and other interactions are there so that you can get to know people better. People can learn about you by how you react to the stuff. It showed lots of people that I can not only be charming but that I have a good sense of humor. I have been using facebook for well over a year now and have never ever had any trouble with them selling information to third parties. If a 3rd party finds the information, remember that you put that information out there and that they could have just rummaged through the website and found you and took your information from whatever you provided. Facebook is very fun and it gives the norms a chance to see a side of us that they don't regularly get to see. facebook is nothing to worry about unless you put the b-day info out there or disclose your disability.

I used to be on FB, bebo... i even started a twitter to see what it was all about but i have deleted them all, they make me a little angry.

Years ago no one had heard of these sites, but it seems everyone now has a need to tell everyone what they are doing now, the worst is twitter. Its changing people and i think maybe causing more Ego and attention seekers in the world, and people trying to beat there friends at things.

Also its a way to get all us on record, and a way for goverments to spy on us, and a way to brainwash us all, so i dont want to be a part of it... i would rather be free and have my privicy, if i want to conact a friend they can by E-mail, or Msn, where its just one on one, not where everyone can read my stuff, gossip etc etc.

Thats just what i think anyway

Hi guys,

thanks for your replies :)

@schizotypes: It sounds great that you were able to show people a different side of you through facebook!

@Ninja: I'm also worried about having a "record" out there on the internet. People can use it to stalk me, the government could use it to create a profile of me or my friends....

But I just can't get myself to delete it. I get a lot of enjoyment out Facebook - my last class reunion, which was fun, was arranged on Facebook. I like the way people relate to each other on Facebook.
