Irma's injection

Postby storyofanartist on Thu Oct 02, 2008 7:12 pm

What are you night dreams like? When I do dream, they are strong and sometimes I wake up feeling very strange, and it haunts me for a few hours; sometimes (but rarely) a day or two.
I hope you will feel free and comfortable, if you would like, to share a dream you might have had recently and if it means anything to you...

Okay, this isn't recent, but I remember some months ago, I was feeling very sick and had a few lucid dreams. I was in a half-wake state but couldn't control my dreams, it was really scary. In one of the dreams, I was attacked by someone from behind and then I stabbed this person with a knife. The knife looked like some horrid torture instrument or something you might cut up cattle with at a factory. In another I was trapped in a building and every time I tried to communicate with the staff in the building, they would pretend not to understand me. I think that's pretty much how I felt at the time. I couldn't believe I had made these things up in my dreams, they were so horrifying, and it haunted me for days after. But I haven't had those kinds of dreams for a while now. I was unmedicated back then and feeling really lousy, and I think that's why my dreams turned out like that. Now I don't remember my dreams at all, and I haven't in the past either.

What are your dreams like?

I'm not medicated and my dreams tend to be a bit violent. They're usually very long, and I'll wake up two or three times in the night, but when I drift back the dream continues...

Four of us were staying at a mansion (I was under the impression it belonged to one of the boys in the group's parents; who were on vacation). One of the girls was murdered and dismembered and someone had it all on videocamera... we were trying to get the crabs and star fish and sand out of this bed when a creepy man showed up outside and I felt like he was checking me out or sizing me up for something and it was very weird... then I remember being at my car in the driveway and the man was leaving. I hid between the cars and the man drove by very slow but he couldn't see me. The police drove by and saw me hiding while everyone else was inside, I was interrogated and the police got into my car. I drove the cops around and had to explain to them how I didn't murder and dismember that girl but I had SPD without psychotic effects and I would never do something like that. They wanted to send me to the psych hospital but I was screaming "I'm not crazy, I mean maybe a little crazy or weird, but I'm not psychotic!!"
Then I woke up. But I remember seeing the dismembered body, and I was standing over it at one point in a bathroom (it was in a bathtub), like I actually had done it...

I don't remember my dreams, but I get macabre/violent images in my head when I'm awake. It feels dreamish - as if the filter between dream and reality is broken or missing.

I used to get this image of my spine being tied up to a pole, my bones breaking, peeling of skin with a potato peeler - that kind of stuff. It's nasty, and I wish I could make it just go away.

I also have a problem distinguishing dreaming from being awake, also from fantasies. And once they are memories, how does a person tell the difference.
