Dreams

Postby mysteryteacher on Sat Jun 20, 2009 1:58 pm

I have the most vivid dreams normally and was wondering if every one else does.
I also have Lucid dreams.
The other night for instance I dreamt I was trying to get into a house, I had a key, but to get there was difficut, I either had to walked across a narrow ledge full of plants or go down into a kind of yard where there was a vicious dog on the other side of a glass door, and I mean VICIOUS. In my dream I thought "I will have to check out this dream on the dreammoods site to see what it means"...lol

Last night I had an intersting dream that made me think.

I was in a kind of flea market, or garage sale and I was looking at books, I found a really thick book with the title 'Schizotypal' on it. I wanted to buy, then it all went fuzzy and I dont remember too much...

This site helps explain some of the basic symbolism to analysing dreams: http://www.dreammoods.com/
any one want to share dreams?

Not long ago I dreamt about being in a hospital (as a visitor) and took care of a man having AIDS. I didn't know him but somehow I was the one who had to take care of him. I was changing his bloody pillows (I couldn't get infected from them). My crush also was a patient in that hospital and everyone I know went to visit him. Maybe because my father also was in a hospital with another problem.
In another dream I was borning and it was in relation with a green-covered book. That's all I saw about the book.
Once I dreamt about a garden, some kind of arboretum. A famous scientist worked in a corner of it. Once, on a dinner in that arboretum, he handed me a half of strawberry, saying "giving his heart to me", like giving a kind of wedding ring. I was terribly embarrassed because he could be almost my grandfather:D I rejected it and I think all the guests were angry of me for hurting him.

To see or dream that you are in a hospital, symbolizes your need to heal or improve your physical or mental heath. You need to get back to the flow of everyday life. Alternatively, it suggests that you are giving up control of your own body or that you are afraid of losing control of your body.

To dream that you are a nurse, suggests that you need to show more compassion in a situation.

To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments

This is all from the dream dictionary, obviously some of these things have a personal meaning as well as collective, like you said your father was in hospital...

a train line can be a kind of track towards goals..but ther is a flood, floods normally represent repressed emotions bcoming overwhealming, can also represent sexual desires.
I suppose it also depend on your state of mind whilst you were travelling through the flood..did you get to the other side for example?

I find dreams very fascinating, I am pretty sure they must have some significance too..

I was in a library, searching for some important material for my studies. The library was high like a tower and full of sliding doors of corkwood. I ran into my old rival. She was very nice and asked me for some advices.
I saw a prison where children were locked amongst with their parents. Once I was sitting on the top of a bastion-like tower of the prison, looking for a law about this and crying, not because I was so desperate but I thought crying is a task to solve the problem.

I moved this thread from the General discussion forum, as it doesn't particularly have anything to do with StPD.
